Terms of service

These terms apply to merchants who install Mint Gift ("the app"), made by Mint Labs ("we", "us"). By installing or using the app you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy.
The service
The app lets your customers mark an order as a gift, add a gift message and (on Pro) choose gift wrap in the cart through a theme app extension, saves their choice on the cart and order, adds one checkout rule to your Shopify store (powered by the app's Shopify Function) that enforces your message limit and the gift wrap rules, and (on Pro) keeps a gift wrap product in your store and prints gift receipts without prices from your orders. We may improve or change features; we will not remove a paid feature you rely on without notice.
Gift wrap and your products
When you offer gift wrap, the app creates and manages one product in your store for it (unlisted, hidden from search engines, inventory not tracked) with the names, prices and images you set, and makes it available on your Online Store while gift wrap is offered. You are responsible for your prices, taxes and for wrapping orders as sold. The product stays in your store if you uninstall; you can delete it from the app first. Gift options are chosen in the cart, so orders placed with Buy it now or other ways that skip the cart have no gift details.
Billing
Plans are billed by Shopify every 30 days in USD after the free trial. You can cancel at any time by changing plans or uninstalling the app. Charges are handled entirely by Shopify under Shopify's terms.
Availability and liability
We work to keep the app available, accurate and secure, but it is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, our total liability is limited to the fees you paid for the app in the 3 months before a claim.
Data processing addendum
When the app processes personal data of your customers on your behalf, you are the controller and we are the processor. We will:
- process personal data only to provide the app's features, following your instructions given through the app's settings;
- process only the minimum data needed: we store no customer or order data. Orders are read from Shopify only when you print a gift receipt (order number, date, items, gift message — no customer fields) and not kept; we never read customers' names, email addresses, phone numbers or addresses;
- never sell personal data, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models;
- keep it confidential and limit access to authorised personnel;
- encrypt it in transit (HTTPS) and at rest (Cloudflare D1 encryption at rest);
- use Cloudflare (hosting and database) and Shopify as our only sub-processors;
- delete all shop data after uninstall (shop redaction), and delete access tokens as soon as the app is uninstalled;
- help you respond to data subject requests (we hold no customer data; gift details are in your own order data) and notify you without undue delay of any personal data breach.
Changes
We will post changes to these terms here and update the date above. Significant changes will be announced in the app.
